Home » Work With Me

I’ve been blogging for over a decade now, and I truly believe that the greatest gift the online world has given me is the ability to connect with others in meaningful ways. Which is why I am always happy to hear from anyone who wants to work with me.

I’M INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH YOU, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Great, I’d love to hear from you. I welcome collaborations from bloggers, PRs, journalists, brands, businesses, and anyone else who shows an interest in what I’m doing here at The Patch, so long as it is relevant to my readers. You can find out more about the main topics I cover below, and if you feel you have an idea that will work well here, please do get in touch.

WHAT TOPICS DO YOU COVER ON THE BLOG?

The Family Patch Family & Home LifeUnsurprisingly, I write a fair bit about family life. I tend to focus on themes such as living on a budget, balancing home and work life, and celebrating the seasons. You can find all my posts about Family and Home Life here.

The Family Patch Health & WellbeingHealth and Wellbeing is a big focus in our lives, and I tend to focus on how we’re trying to live the best lives we can through healthy, holistic lifestyle choices. You can read all my Health and Wellbeing posts here.

The Family Patch Faith & SpiritualityThemes within this topic include:  Liberal Christianity; Modern Paganism; New Age Metaphysics; and raising spiritual kids. You can find all my posts about Faith and Spirituality here.

The Family Patch Creativity & CraftsCreativity makes up a massive part of my life and is a large part of my healing journey. I adore writing, crocheting, cross stitch, taking photos, and so much more! You can read all my Creativity and Crafts posts here.

WHAT KIND OF COLLABORATION ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I am willing to consider all kinds of collaboration, including guest posts, sponsored posts, brand ambassador roles, product reviews and competitions, and anything else you can come up with! I am flexible in the way I work, as I want collaborations to be positive experiences for both you and my readers.

That being said, I purposefully limit the number of sponsored posts and branded content (including ads) that appear on The Patch, because I believe that this benefits both my readers and those I work with. This means that I may turn down your proposal if I feel it isn’t the best fit at this time, even if I like what you are doing, and if I know a blogger who may be a better fit for your campaign I will say so.

CAN YOU SHOW ME SOME EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK WITH OTHERS?

Sure! Some of my favourite collaborations are below.

The Family Patch Meets Jaime at #cosmickidsliveMeeting Jaime at #cosmickidslive

This was a post which shared our experience of travelling to London to visit the YouTube Space for a fan event. We included a video of the event as well as lots of pictures and links to Cosmic Kids. We really love what Jaime at the team at Cosmic Kids are doing, and regularly share their updates on social media.

Win 1 of 5 Cosmic Kids DVDs

This was another collaboration with Cosmic Kids in the form of a competition that I ran across both my blogs (the other being Spirit Kid Network, which I have since closed as an individual entity and integrated into The Family Patch). In order to enter, readers had to visit the Cosmic Kids YouTube Channel and tell us which video they were most excited about.

Fabrics from Coats Crafts

Adventures of a Novice Sewer

This was a review of a selection of fabrics and thread provided by Coats Crafts.  I originally met the team from Coats Crafts at a blogging conference and was asked if I would like to collaborate with them on a post. I used a pattern from their website and shared how I had found following the instructions as a novice sewer.

Handmade Christmas Gifts for the #PHWinterWorkshop Charity Auction.

This was a collaborative post with Parcel Hero, in which various bloggers were sent a wooden box to decorate and fill with items to auction on eBay. I created a turquoise and seed bead double stranded necklace and decorated the box using different shades of blue and white tissue paper, with a gold painted trim.

TravelShades Review The Family PatchEasing Motion Sickness with TravelShades

This was a review post that explained how this new product can help with motion sickness and how I personally found the experience of using them. I originally contacted the company, as I was struggling with increased motion sickness, and the review is now also featured on their site.
